Deepest sympathies to the Thielman family. Geri was an amazing daycare provider for my sister and me. I can still remember watching Power Rangers in the afternoons, playing in the backyard and sunroom, and making friends with her grandchildren. She had the patience of a saint to put up with my frequent “rebelliousness” and I greatly appreciate the effort she put in everyday to make me feel cared for. She made an impact on this Earth and will be missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jubilee Worship Center on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation to begin one hour prior to the service. An additional visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home.
Geraldine Marie (Winter) Thielman passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 22, 2026, in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Gerry was born on August 9, 1938, in Evanston, Illinois, to Christopher and Elizabeth Winter.
On June 8, 1957, Gerry married the love of her life, LeRoy Thielman, at Faith, Hope, and Charity Church in Winnetka, Illinois. They later moved to St. Cloud, where they built their home, raised their children, and grew a loving family together.
Gerry had a special gift for caring for children. She opened a daycare in her home and spent more than 20 years providing loving care to the children of her community. After retiring, she continued her passion for helping young people by volunteering with the Foster Grandparent Program at the YMCA and in local schools throughout St. Cloud.
Gerry’s unwavering faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She was a longtime member of Jubilee Worship Center and was also active in the Red Hat Society and Women’s Aglow. Gerry enjoyed volunteering at the Place of Hope providing support to community members in need. In her free time, she loved reading, playing card games, crocheting blankets and mittens, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, she treasured every opportunity to visit and talk with her loved ones.
Gerry is survived by her children, Thomas (Deb) Thielman, Kenneth (Lisa) Thielman, Ann (Dave) Thielen, and Laura (Mike) Larson; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Christopher Winter; her husband, LeRoy Thielman; her children, Scott Thielman, Linda Klinkner, and infant son Christopher Thielman; her brothers, Edward PaVell, William Winter, Robert Winter, and Richard Winter.
Gerry will be remembered for her caring heart, steadfast faith, and love for everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
