Schedule Details
Memorial services will be held at 11am on January 19, 2026 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. Visitation will start at 9:30 am prior to the service at church. Urn placement will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Columbarium immediately after the service, followed by a luncheon at the church as well. Arrangements are with Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Geraldine LaVonne “Gerry” Haug, age 85, of St. Cloud, MN passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Edenbrook of St. Cloud.
Gerry was born on September 23, 1940, in New Rockford, ND to Milo and Gudrun (Berge) Throlson. She grew up on the family farm in Sheyenne, ND. After graduating high school she attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN earning a bachelor’s degree. She worked as a Home Economics Teacher for the Sauk Rapids High School. Gerry married Marcus T. Haug Jr. on July 11, 1964 in Sheyenne, ND. Gerry was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was active in the Quilting Circle. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery, baking, gardening, and spending time with her family. Gerry later worked at the St. Cloud Sewing Center, as a sewing class instructor and in sales support, where she made many friends and renewed acquaintances. Gerry never let you go hungry. Any friends or relatives showing up at the house, even at 1 AM in the morning, were going to be treated to anything from homemade desserts to a full homemade meal. Gerry’s sincere kindness, easy going manner and beautiful smile made everyone comfortable in her presence.
Survivors include her siblings LeRoy (Eunice) Throlson of Sheyenne, ND and Kenneth (Marlys) Throlson of New Rockford, ND and her children; Marcus T. (Linda) Haug III, Copley, OH, Michael (Beata) Haug of Eau Claire, WI, and Gayle Haug of St. Cloud; and grandchildren; Rachael (Haug) Pavloski, Marcus T Haug IV, Elena (Ingersoll) Truesdell, Matthew Ingersoll, Gillian (Ingersoll) Curtis, Nathan Ingersoll, Jessica Haug, April Haug, Alyssa Haley, Isaiah Haley, Sam Haley; and 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcus T. Haug Jr.; and daughters, Lorenda Ingersoll and Kari Haug.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Gerry’s name may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church where Gerry and the Haug family were members for 50+ years..
