Donald Joseph Roeder was born on April 4, 1935, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Leo and Leonora (Forner) Roeder. He grew up on a farm in St. Joseph, Minnesota, and attended elementary school in Rockville, Minnesota.
On August 2, 1956, Donald married Eileen (Mohs) Roeder at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Together, they shared 70 years of marriage and raised their four children in the home Donald built for his family. They were longtime members of Saint Wendelin’s Catholic Church.
Donnie was a hardworking, humble, and conservative man who enjoyed keeping busy. He loved coyote hunting with his dogs and took up fishing later in life. As a talented craftsman and machinist, he could often be found tinkering in his garage. He enjoyed a good game of 500 and, most importantly, his wife’s homemade cream pie.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Eileen; children, Randall, Bryon (Linda), Roxann (Paul), and Jason (Julie); sister, Joyce Luke; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Leonora; brother, Leo Jr., and sister, Darlene Brandle.
The family would like to thank Edenbrook, Moments Hospice, and Benedictine Assumption Home for the care and kindness they provided to Donnie and his family.
