Andrew L. Bensen, age 41, of Plymouth, MN passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, at his home.

A Memorial Service celebrating Andy’s life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Andrew Lorents Bensen was born in St. Cloud on May 26, 1984, to Brian and Jan (Erickson) Bensen.  He graduated from Tech High School in 2003 and went on to attend the University of Minnesota graduating with his Bachelor of Art degree in 2007.  Andy enjoyed both learning and teaching, spending several years teaching in Guatemala and high school history in China. He then studied at the University of Freiburg, Germany where he earned a Master of Environmental Governance degree in 2019. Andy went on to work at Sun Country Airlines. This position allowed Andy’s love of travel to grow and helped him to see much of the world. Currently, Andy worked as a Training Specialist for Synova Group, which he enjoyed immensely. Andy loved traveling, listening to music, snowboarding and watching Antiques Roadshow.

Andy is survived by his mother, Jan Bensen of St. Cloud; Brother, Patrick (Diana) Bensen; sister, Katherine “Katie” (Nathan Uecker) Bensen; nephew, Hunter Bensen; niece, Morgan Bensen; 4 aunts and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Brian Bensen in 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Teen Challenge Minneapolis.
