     Verbon “Buck” Arthur Baker, age 69, St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at Foley Nursing Home, Foley, MN.
     As per Buck’s request there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Almena, KS. Arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Buck was born December 23, 1942 in Norton, KS to Arthur and Vera (Boland) Baker. He attended Norton Public Schools until the 5th grade and then Southfork country school. Buck graduated from Almena High School, Almena, KS. During his school years he enjoyed cars, farming with his granddad and FFA. On January 22, 1961 Buck married Bonnita “Bonnie” Cramer in Almena, KS. Together they had three sons. They later divorced. Early employment for Buck included the railroad, bridge construction and truck driving. In the early 1980’s he worked at a sheet metal plant in Wichita and later became the Youth Director at 7th Step Foundation. Buck moved to St. Cloud, MN in the early 1990’s to be nearer to family and worked at Yellow Cab for many years. He enjoyed taking care of his cars and doing things for his sons and others.
     Survivors include his sons, William “Bill” Baker of St. Cloud, MN; Boyd Baker of Rochester, MN; brothers, Donnie of Cambridge, NE; Arthur Jr. of Washington; sisters, Debbie of Hill City, KS; Darla of Norton, KS; Dena of Brookville, KS; Donna of Salina, KS: Rosemarie of Washington; Betty Jo of Washington; Lonnie of North Carolina; Bonnie of Georgia; Dorothy Ann of Washington; Arta of Washington; four grandchildren, Bryan of St. Cloud, MN; Carrington of Newton, KS; Michelle of Fargo, ND; Brandon of Rochester, MN; two great grandchildren, Vincent and William of Fargo, ND; and special friend, Rachel.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, son, Alan Lane Baker, sister, Diana Sue, and brother, Dennis.
