Lola M. Schenk, age 87, Clear Lake, MN, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Fairview Northland Medical Center, Princeton, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Lola was born April 2, 1924 in Wayzata, MN to Eugene and Amelia (DeJarles) Gleason. She married C. Perry Schenk on November 10, 1945 in Anoka, MN. Lola was employed by Anoka County as a Deputy Clerk of Court. She was an active member of Daughters of American Revolution as a V.P. General, a 50-Year member of Order of Eastern Star, a member of the executive committee of Veterans Affairs Volunteer Services, and a member of Sauk Rapids American Legion Post #254 Auxiliary. Lola was a recipient of the WCCO “Good Neighbor Award” and also was the first woman to serve on the Sauk Rapids School Board.
Survivors include her husband, C. Perry Schenk of Clear Lake, MN; sons and daughter, Michael (Laura) Schenk of Madison, MS; Roberta (Anthony) Nathe of Sauk Rapids, MN; Timothy (Lois) Schenk of Apple Valley, MN; Stephen (Julie) Schenk of Hastings, MN; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
