Joan C. (Hainlin) Murphy, age 78, of Sartell, MN died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Paul Dare will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Joan was born November 2, 1933 in Bergen, MN to Francis M. and Aurelia A. (Jenneke) Hainlin. She grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School. On August 15, 1953 Joan was united in marriage to Paul Murphy in Stillwater, MN. They later divorced. Joan was a stay at home mom, who lovingly ran a day care for many years. She was active member of her class reunion and was property manager at Wedgewood Apartments in Sartell. Joan was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. Joan loved to socialize, laugh and hang out with family and friends.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Kevin (Susan) Murphy, Robert ( special friend, Dayna Jensen) Murphy, Mary (Jim) Hawkinson, Nancy Murphy, Kathryn (Ed) Quinn-Murphy, Lynda (Marty) Zenzen, and Patrick Murphy; brothers, Thomas and Michael Hainlin; sisters-in-law, Renee and Sheila Hainlin; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Krista, Spencer, Dylan, Blake, Cole, and Madison; one great granddaughter, Zi; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ginny LaVoi, Tara Lynch and Tracy Torgenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Amy, and brothers, Lewis and David Hainlin.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and nieces and nephews. |
