     Harlan C. “Fred” Fredericksen Sr., age 90, St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. John Jankowski will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, MN at a later date.
     Harlan was born May 8, 1921 in Arco, MN to John and Christine (Jorgensen) Fredericksen. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps for a couple of years and then served in the United States Army from 1939 to 1945. On October 23, 1945 Harlan married Julia Frances Pike in St. John’s, Newfoundland, an English Colony. They lived in Tyler and Marshall, MN prior to moving to St. Cloud, MN in 1955. Harlan worked as a master plumber for St. Cloud Plumbing and Heating until 1963 when he started Fred’s Plumbing. Harlan was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Cloud VFW Post #428 and Clearwater American Legion Post #323
     Survivors include his wife, Julia “Frances” Fredericksen of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, David (Mary) Fredericksen of St. Cloud, MN; Paul (Gwenn) Fredericksen of Clear Lake, MN; Judy (Jack) Adams of Deerwood, MN; Nancy (Ronald) Rossman of St. Cloud, MN; fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, son Harlan “Freddy” Fredericksen, Jr. on November 12, 1994, three brothers, Clarence, Harold and Gordon, and five sisters, Helga, Alma, Marilyn, Anitra and Marie.
     The family would like to thank the staffs of Veterans Administration Medical Center Building 49 Floor 1, Building 50 Floor 2, ADHC and friends for the loving care and compassion that they showed to Harlan.
     Memorials are preferred.
