     Carol Diane Oleson, age 72, St. Cloud, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2011, surrounded by her family, after an extended hospitalization with a chronic lung condition (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis).
     A memorial service and celebration of her life will be Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Carol was born July 15, 1939 in Estherville, IA to Willard and Hazel Belle (Jones) Moore. She married Chauncey Oleson on August 17, 1958 in Estherville, IA. Carol was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Cloud.
     Carol’s church and spirituality were very important to her. She served the church in many roles, including singing in the choir, intercessory prayer team, wedding coordinator, women’s circle, and providing visitations and Meals on Wheels to shut-in members of the church and community.
    In addition to her many years of active service to her church, Carol was the co-owner of the Edelbrock Bed and Breakfast for twenty years and a foster care mother to hundreds of children in crisis.
     Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family. Carol loved to bake and cook for family, friends and guests. She decorated her home with antiques and pictures of her children and grandchildren. Carol loved singing and music, reading, traveling and attending children and grandchildren’s events.
     Survivors include her husband, Chauncey Oleson of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, Christopher (Toshiko) Oleson of Osaka, Japan; Craig Oleson of Plover, WI; Jennifer (Terry) Boyd of Seattle, WA; Joni (Todd) Olehausen of Phoenix, AZ; Eric (Anna) Oleson of Slidell, LA; Robb (Miho) Oleson of Glendale, AZ; Steven Ochs of Willmar, MN; Margie Oleson of St. Cloud, MN; eight grandchildren, Zen Oleson of Japan; Marquita, Natalie and Matthew L. Oleson of Minnesota, Kalyn and Ryan Olehausen of Arizona, Max Wild-Oleson of Louisiana and Matthew N. Oleson of Arizona; brother, William (Greg Horner) Moore of Atlanta, GA; sister, Janet (James) Brandenburg of Owatonna, MN; nieces, nephews and many friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kevin Moore.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to First United Methodist Church for the new church choir room.
