    DALE A. DEVICK Sartell
    January 2, 1929 - September 24, 2011

Dale Albert Devick of Sartell, MN died September 24, 2011, at Country Manor where he resided since January, 2010.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA.
Dale was born January 2, 1929 in Tama County, IA, to Ingebrit Albert and Othelia Sophia (Waldale) Devick. He graduated from Marshalltown High School, after which he served in the United States Army as a communications specialist in Germany. He co-founded Bruin Manufacturing with his brother, Clair Devick, in Marshalltown, IA. There they pioneered the production of automated injected molded plastic parts that were sold to companies throughout the United States. Bruin Manufacturing was honored to receive various awards, including supplier of the year from Stanley Tools and Fisher Controls. Dale was a gifted engineer who oversaw and managed the growth of the company but was admired for always working alongside their dedicated employees to produce exceptional products. He retired in 1990.
Dale married Sara Kay McGriff on October 21, 1955. Together they had three children. Dale and Sara were actively involved in their communities, churches, and family activities. They shared an intense interest in the arts, photography, painting, travel and philanthropic causes. Dale learned to fly small aircraft at the age of 16 and earned his pilot's license, and later joined the Marshalltown Flying Club. He also enjoyed Ham Radio, reading, writing, wood working, and many other creative endeavors. In 1993 Dale and Sara moved to Tubac, AZ where they resided until 2003, when they relocated to be closer to family.
Dale was a dedicated, intelligent, talented, generous, quietly witty, and loving man whose integrity and honor were ever present.
Dale is survived by his wife Sara, of Sartell, MN, son Timothy (Jesse Barrera), Austin, TX, daughter Teresa (Timothy) Rasmussen, Sartell, MN, son West (Julie) Devick, Oronoco, MN, grandchildren Natalie Devick, Tristan Devick, and William Rasmussen, brother Clair (Lucille) Devick, Marshalltown, IA, and sister Ruth Hines, Nevada, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Dorothy McGrew, Arlene McGrew and Lois Mae Ray.
In Dale's own words, “Every venture in life has its good and its bad, its trying times and its moments of joy. I think we soared more often than we stumbled. I personally had moments on the mountain top, a few dips into the wilderness, and a lot of time on the plateau.” May you now soar, unencumbered, beyond the boundaries of this earth.
