     Orville D. Jensen, age 86, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Good Shepherd Memory Cottages, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Funeral services will be Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at chapel. Burial with full military honors will be on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 12:30 PM in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Orville was born May 5, 1925 in Oldham, SD to Christ S. and Cora E. (Wooden) Jensen. He was a 1943 graduate of Hetland High School, Hetland, SD. Orville served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. On July 16, 1947, Orville was united in marriage to Laurel J. Nelson in Webster, SD. Orville was a farmer and was also employed by J. C. Penney. He was a former member of the Evangelical Free Church of St. Louis Park, MN and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
     Survivors include his wife, Laurel Jensen of Sauk Rapids, MN; sons and daughters, Duane A. Jensen of Huron, South Dakota; David L. Jensen of Minneapolis, MN; Linda J. Evenson of Mora, MN; Barbara L. (Curtis) Thurn of St. Cloud, MN; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Wheeler.
     Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
