Marian E. Hartmann, age 84, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, September 2, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. William Meier will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, MN.
Marian was born November 2, 1926 in Oak Park, MN to Emmett and Martha G. (Florek) Aleckson. She married Elwin “Tunney” Hartmann on October 12, 1945 in Clear Lake, MN. Marian was employed as a cook at Lincoln Elementary in St. Cloud. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Marian was also a member of Clear Lake Ladies Circle and a former Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed playing Bingo and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Gerald “Butch” (Dawn Gerjets) Hartmann of St. Cloud, MN; William (Patricia) Hartmann of Hastings, MN; Doug (Terri) Hartmann of St. Cloud, MN; Diane Heuerman of Minnetonka, MN; and Lori (Lee) Krzyzaniak of North Branch, MN; sisters, Delores Walker of Wood River, IL; Connie Anderson of Brooklyn Park, MN; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elwin on November 14, 2003, grandson, Adam Gerjets, and three brothers, Russell, James and Jerome Aleckson.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Gerjets, Michael Heuerman, Alex Hartmann, Reid Hartmann, Nick Hartmann and Nate Barnett.
