Darrell A. Engel, age 84, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Darrell was born October 5, 1926 in St. Cloud, MN to Ernest and Anna (Sendzik) Engel. He served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1947 serving on the USS West Virginia. Darrell married Carol J. Davis on November 25, 1954. He worked in the sheet metal trade for over 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Engel of Sauk Rapids, MN; sons and daughter, Randy (Beth) Engel of Sartell, MN; Julie (Dave) Olson of Clearwater, MN; Darren Engel of Kimball, MN; two grandchildren, Jenny (Engel) Plombon and Shane Olson; sisters, Gayle (Henry) Heeck of St. Cloud, MN and Mae Wies of St. Paul, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Audrey Luckemeyer and Rhea Layne; and a brother, LeRoy Engel.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel Fund. |
