Bill received his Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in 1958 and his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1966.      Bill was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, having served two terms on the Church Council. He also served terms as Chairman of the Stewardship Committee and Chairman of the Legacy Committee. Bill enjoyed all sports and was an avid hockey fan at all levels having served as President of the St. Cloud Youth Hockey Association, President of Apollo High School Blue Line Club, and President of St. Cloud State University Center Ice Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing pool and traveling. Bill also enjoyed golfing, achieving a hole-in-one at Oakhill on #16.
