     Joan Kathleen Raab, age 79, Avon, MN, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Avon, MN. Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Avon, MN. Funeral arrangements by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Joan was born June 30, 1931 in Padua, MN to Joseph and Clara (Hens) Ostendorf. She married Leo G. Raab on October 23, 1951 in Sauk Centre, MN. Joan enjoyed baking everyday. She loved quilting, embroidering, reading and gardening. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.
     Survivors include sons and daughters, David Raab of Avon, MN; Paul (Cheryl) Raab of Avon, MN; Leo Raab of Holdingford, MN; James Raab of Avon, MN; Robert (Karrie) Raab of St. Joseph, MN; Joseph (Joan) Raab of Avon, MN; Agnes (Henry) Fuechtmann of Sauk Centre, MN; Marcy (George) Reisdorf of Sartell, MN and Karen (Ron) Kobylinski of Upsala, MN; brothers and sister, Joe Ostendorf of Villard, MN; Ronald (Joanne) Ostendorf of Two Harbors, MN; Fred (Rhoda) Ostendorf of Sauk Centre, MN; Larry (Shirley) Ostendorf of Maple Grove, MN and Marion (Fred) Sauer of Pierz MN; eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo, on February 6, 2007; infant daughter, Barbara; one son, John Raab in 1997; two sisters, Dona Martin and Diane Warren; and one infant brother, William.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to CentraCare Health Foundation/Hospice or St. Clare’s Monastery.
