     Charles “Chuck” W. Kirby, age 92, St. Cloud, MN, died Monday April 25, 2011 peacefully at his home.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Chuck was born December 29,1918 in Kasota, MN to Harry J. and Anna (Lundquist) Kirby. He served in the United States Army during World War II as an Army Medic from 1943 to 1946. Chuck married Norma Noren on July 20, 1946 in St. Peter, MN. They later divorced. On September 22, 1972 Chuck married Rita Miller Schneider in Watertown, SD. Chuck was employed as a salesman for Granite City Tool Company. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Cloud VFW Post #428, Waite Park American Legion Post #428, St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622, Nicollet Masonic Lodge #54 of St. Peter, MN, Royal Arch Masons Chapter #22 of St. Peter, MN, Osman Temple of St. Paul, MN, Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Minneapolis in the Orient of Minnesota, and the St. Cloud Shrine Club. Chuck enjoyed golf, sports, car club, fishing and hunting.
     Survivors include children, John (Linda) Kirby of Boise, ID; Kathleen (David) Posthumus of Eden Prairie, MN; Cynthia (William) Krueger of St. Cloud, MN; and Phillip (Nancy) Schneider of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, Benjamin (Laura) Krueger, Emily (Matthew) Jacobs, Kristy (Greg) Steeger, Jenny (Adam) Wright, Corey (Kristy) Maselter, and Joseph Maselter; and 16 great grandchildren, Samantha and Ruby Ann Krueger, Dalton Krueger-Sizer, Lola Mae and Sloane Mia Jacobs, Cassidy and Landon Steeger, Ethan and Logan Wright, Cassidy, Breanna, Kieran, Easton, Landon, Laney and Kila Maselter.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rita, on March 12, 2004, daughter, Sandra Marie Maselter, two brothers and two sisters.
     Memorials are preferred.
