Marilee Barrette, age 68, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, 1111 25th Ave. S., St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Marilee was born on October 16, 1942 in Crookston, MN to Felix and Marie (Patnode) Barrette of Red Lake Falls, MN. She graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls in 1960. She attended the St. Cloud Business College from 1960 to 1961. Beginning September 1961, she was employed as a Clerk-Steno in the Academic Dean’s Office at St. Cloud State College (now University). In July, 1975 she transferred to the Office of Continuing Studies as Office Manager and remained there until her retirement in 2006. During her 45 years of service at St. Cloud State University, she exemplified it’s tradition of opportunity and excellence.
She is survived by a sister, Cheryl Barrette of Sunnyvale, CA; special friend Maurice Berg; and her St. Cloud State University family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her very close friend and colleague, Regis Betts.
A special thanks to the wonderfully kind caregivers of St. Benedict’s Senior Community and the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice Program.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Cloud State University Foundation.
