Ann B. Bates, age 68, Sauk Rapids, MN died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta, MN.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at St. Mary’s Cathedral School Basement, 25 8th Ave. S., St. Cloud, MN. There will be a prayer service at 5:00 PM lead by Father Roger Botz.
A memorial services will be planned for later this spring.
Ann was born August 5, 1942 in St. Cloud, MN to Roman & Elsie (Bermer) Kunkel. She married Kenneth E. Bates on January 6, 1962. Ann did Home Health Care and spent six weeks in Nicaragua for Habitat For Humanity. She touched many peoples lives while doing Spiritual Care for the St. Cloud Hospital for 15 years. She enjoyed painting, drawing, traveling and especially liked a good cup of coffee. Her favorite color was purple. Ann was a caregiver her entire life, was a devoted wife a wonderful mom and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bates of Sauk Rapids, MN; sons and daughter, Steve Bates of Albany, MN; Mitch & Ingrid Bates of Albany, MN; Robb & Aimee Bates of St. Cloud, MN; Susie Piner of Sartell, MN; brother, Tom (Pat) Kunkel of Anoka, MN; Ron (Janice) Kunkel of Luxemburg, MN; Joe (Linda) Kunkel of Duluth, MN; 15 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlene Kunkel of Pearl Lake, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Jeffry Bates and brother, Lloyd Kunkel. |
