William Ralph Pearcy, age 94, St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Harvey Ehlers will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
William was born December 23, 1915 in Wall Lake, IA to James Guy and Ida (Ballard) Pearcy. He married Vivian Atwood on September 24, 1941 in Marshall, MN in the Methodist parsonage. They moved to Waite Park, MN in 1954. William was employed by Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroad as a carman for 31 years. After retiring in 1979 they moved to Mena, Arkansas where they lived for six years. William was a life member of Eastside VFW Post #4847.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Pearcy of Sauk Rapids, MN; son and daughters, Vernon (Darlene) Pearcy of Kenyon, MN; Delores Steele of Sauk Rapids, MN; Cheryl (Don) Gross of Lincoln, NE; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Archie, Roy, Ray and Robert; and five sisters, Jean, Grace, Ruth, Ada and Betty.
