Shawn Worden Ostrander, age 40, St. Cloud, MN died Thursday, September 9, 2010.
Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. Private family funeral services will be held.
Shawn was born April 20, 1970 in Willmar, MN to Charles and Darlene (Salonek) Ostrander. He attended Area Learning Center and St. Cloud Technical College, becoming a certified auto mechanic. Shawn held several jobs over the years, working for Ron Carlson Motors, Arnolds Equipment, Car Quest, Donahue Harley Davidson, driving semi for Swift Transport, and most recently at St. Cloud Truck Sales. He also operated his own business, Shawn’s Repair. Shawn’s passion was building fast cars, drag racing and riding motorcycle. After years of chronic pain, Shawn decided to end his own suffering.
Survivors include his mother, Darlene (Salonek) Ostrander of Sartell, MN; sisters, Michele (Randy) Olmscheid of St. Cloud, MN; Kim (Rick) Karsch of Rice, MN; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Johanna, Emily, Adam, and Andrew; his best friend of over a decade, Dan Haight and his daughters, Carissa and Kasey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ostrander.
