They lived in Luverne from 1946 to 1950 where he was employed by the City of Luverne. They moved to St. Cloud in 1950 where, from 1950 to 1970, Lloyd was employed by Northern States Power as a lineman. In 1970 they moved to Monticello, MN where he was the NSP supervisor for the Monticello district. In 1968 he was honored for his service by being named NSP Employee of the Year. After retiring in 1984 Lloyd and Betty spent summers in Minnesota & winters in various locations enjoying golf and travel with friends, finally settling in Tucson, Arizona.

At Bethlehem Lutheran, Lloyd taught Sunday school, served as longtime Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 14 and served as president of the church council.
