Thelma R. Peterson, age 97, Sauk Rapids, MN, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at Good Shepherd Community Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Community Chapel, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Thelma was born December 16, 1912 in St. Cloud, MN to Howard G. and Ruth T. (Carlson) Wire. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1930. Thelma married Frank Ahrens. They later divorced. She married Elmer H. Peterson on August 26, 1964 in Buffalo, MN. Thelma was employed as a telephone operator by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 33 years in St. Cloud, Morris, Cambridge, Buffalo and Willmar. Thelma was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 79, Wllmar, MN; White Shrine; Golden Links; Telephone Pioneers of America; and Rice Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Willmar.
Survivors include son and daughters, Nancy (Don) Oswald of St. Cloud, MN; Ruth (Roman) Voit of St. Cloud, MN; Roger Ahrens of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers. |
