Robert Godfrey Brink, age 87, St. Cloud, MN, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Bob Springer will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Robert was born February 11, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN to Godfrey M. and Lydia M. (Hammer) Brink. On February 18, 1992, Robert was united in marriage to Joan Bodeker Stroeing in Green Valley, AZ. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946. Robert was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone as a sales manager, retiring in 1952. He then owned and operated the B & B Tree Farm, retiring in 1999. Robert also owned Obre Lake Lodge in Canada. He was a member of St. Cloud Eastside VFW Post #4847 and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Brink of St. Cloud, MN; and brother, Ted Brink of Green Valley, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. |
