     Nova Y. Kinney, age 86, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, July 30, 2010 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta, MN.
     Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Rejoice Lutheran Church, Clearwater, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Nova was born December 5, 1923 in Osakis, MN She graduated from Osakis High School in 1941 and Concordia College in 1945. Nova married Paul Kinney on January 29, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Nova’s life was spent enjoying music, volunteering, teaching piano and choral music, and directing the church choirs. She and her husband Paul volunteered in music at care centers for over 30 years. Her hobbies were piano, golf, tennis, and swimming.
     Survivors include her husband, Paul Kinney of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughter, Peter Paul (Pat) Kinney of St. Cloud, MN; Sharon N. (Alexander) Ravenal of St. Helena, South Carolina; Brian Kinney of Minneapolis, MN; 3 grandchildren, Wendy (Deke) Fischer of Sartell, MN; Sara (Jeff) Hunstiger of Plymouth, MN; Michelle (Rick) Saatzer of Plymouth, MN; 4 great grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Fischer of Sartell, MN; Abigail and Anthony Saatzer of Plymouth, MN and sister-in-law, Abbie Rogers of Winterport, Maine.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Margaret Hanson, and one brother Alan Rogers.
     Memorials are preferred to Quiet Oaks Hospice House or Rejoice Lutheran Church Music Fund.
