     James M. Hartmann, age 85, St. Cloud, MN died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at his home surround by his family.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     James was born November 3, 1924 in Haven Township, Sherburne County, MN to Jacob and Nellie (Vikse) Hartmann. He married Norma Wink on September 27, 1952 in St. Cloud, MN. Jim farmed in Haven Township all of his life and was one of the first farmers to have irrigation in Sherburne County. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Jim enjoyed genealogy, he put together family histories.
     Survivors include, his wife, Norma Hartmann of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughter, Rodney (Jeanne) Hartmann of St. Cloud, MN; Dan (Sharon) Hartmann of Albany, MN; and Jane (Les) Plath of Becker, MN; brother and sister, Walter Hartmann of Brooklyn Park, MN; Agnes Paetznik of Sauk Rapids, MN; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, George Hartmann and 1 sister, Esther Schumann.
     Memorials are preferred to the Tri-County Humane Society.
     The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.
