Willie Mae Payton, age 75, St. Cloud, MN, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 25, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the NuWay Missionary Baptist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Willie Mae was born September 26, 1934 in Osceola, Arkansas to Felmer and Ethel Lee (Hogins) Van, Sr. She served on the Mother’s Board and was a member of NuWay Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters, David Lee Smith of Michigan City, IN; Michael A. Payton of St. Cloud, MN; Bernadette “Lucy” (Sam) Van-Patrick of St. Cloud, MN; Barbara L. Van of St. Michael, MN; Wanda J. Payton of St. Cloud, MN; Sarita Payton of St. Cloud, MN; long time companion, Thomas Harold Bowers of St. Cloud, MN; sister, Ruby Mae (Larry) Evans of Michigan City, IN; step children, Grant Payton Jr of Michigan City, IN; Michael Payton of Michigan City, IN; Tommy Payton of Michigan City, IN; and LaVerne Payton of Mississippi; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grant Payton; brother, Felmer Van Jr.; infant twin children, Connie and Ronnie Smith; infant twin grandchildren, Dajonna and Dajonne Townsell; and great granddaughter, Myciah Coleman.
