     Richard Henry Eiden, age 87, McGregor, MN, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Care Center, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
     Richard was born August 23, 1922 in Carver, MN to Leonard and Sally (Seigal) Eiden. Richard served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Lila L. Hancock on August 21, 1946 in Mora, MN. Richard was employed as an engineer by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1982. After his retirement, Richard and Lila moved to McGregor, MN. Richard was a member of the Lions Club, Camp New Hope and Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     Survivors include a son, Tom Eiden of Douglas, WY; daughters, Debi Eiden of McGregor, MN; and Mary (Pat) Kester of Hinckley, MN; brother, James Eiden of Burnsville, MN; sisters, Elaine LeFebrve of Pine River, MN; and Betty LeFebrve of Elk River, MN; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lila, on November 26, 1994; and one granddaughter, Ellie Kester.
