Garnet E. Feldhusen, age 94, East Moline, IL, formerly of Beach, ND and St. Cloud, MN, died May 2, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Hal Spann will officiate. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Garnet was born November 21, 1915 in Pierson, IA to Glenn and Laura (Kimm) Hathaway. At four years of age, she became a resident of Beach, ND when her parents homesteaded in the area. On March 30, 1938, Garnet was united in marriage to Harold Feldhusen in Glendive, MT. The couple farmed north of the city, until they moved to Beach in the early 1960s. Garnet was active in the Order of Eastern Star, the Beach PEO Chapter, and the Beach Community Church. The couple moved to St. Cloud, MN in 1990 where she continued her participation in church and organizational activities. Garnet will be remembered for her love of cooking, sewing and devotion and joy when being with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Goodrie of St. Cloud, MN; son, Gerald (Donna) Feldhusen of Colona, IL; grandson, Jason (Pam) Zoller and their two children, Anna and Noah, of Olathe, KS; grandson, Kenneth Feldhusen and granddaughter Mary Feldhusen and Ellen (Ken) Leonard, all of Houston, TX; and granddaughter Jennifer (Adam) Bernstein and their three children, Elise, Tess and Phoebe, of Edina, M; sister-in-law, Lucy Siercks of St. Cloud, MN and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on August 2, 1994; and her siblings, Gene Hathaway, Dale Hathaway and Ruby Carlson. |
