Marcus J. Fink, age 89, Waite Park, MN, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Fr. Bernie Gruenes will officiate. Visitation will be (TODAY) Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Parish Prayers will be at 5:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Marcus was born March 18, 1921 in Cold Spring, MN to John and Elizabeth (Schneider) Fink. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. On July 23, 1966 Marcus married Dorothy Goebel in Jacobs Prairie, MN. He was employed by Cold Spring Granite for 33 years, retiring in 1983. After his retirement, Marcus drove bus for Richmond Bus Service. He was a member of Cold Spring VFW Post #6915 and Cold Spring American Legion Post #455. Marcus also volunteered for VA Medical Services. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Marcus was also a huge Vikings, Twins and amateur baseball fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking trips with his family. Marcus especially enjoyed taking his family and grandchildren to Duluth.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Fink of Waite Park, MN; son and daughters, Kevin (Angela) Fink of Lakeville, MN; Karen (Jim) Hiemenz of St. Cloud, MN; Ann (Chad) Willie of Sauk Rapids, MN; sisters, Rose Navedonski of St. Paul, MN; Cecelia Becker of Watkins, MN; sister-in-law, Alice Fink of Delano, MN; and seven grandchildren, Bethany and Courtney Hiemenz, Madysen, Sophia and Ethan Fink, and Myles and Avery Willie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, John Jr., Al and Leo; and four sisters, Matilda, Regina, Sally and Teresa.
Pallbearers will be Bethany Hiemenz, Courtney Hiemenz, Chad Willie, Jim Hiemenz, Brian Fink and Tom Theisen. |
