     Brian Frank Nieland, age 50, St. Cloud, MN, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Hal Spann will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
     Brian was born July 2, 1959 in St. Cloud, MN to Gerhard and Martha (Moeller) Nieland. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1977. Brian lived in St. Cloud all of his life. On May 22, 1993, Brian married Rebecca “Becky” Hartwig at Christ Church Newman Center, St. Cloud, MN. He was currently employed as a rural mail carrier for the St. Cloud United States Postal Service. Brian also served as a trainer for the new rural mail carriers. He was a member of the Technical High School Wrestling Boosters, currently serving as its treasurer. Brian enjoyed bowling, gardening, camping and traveling.
     Survivors include his wife, Becky Nieland of St. Cloud, MN; sons, Trevor and Jerrad Nieland, both of St. Cloud, MN; brothers and sisters, Sharon (Mike) Winter of Roscoe, MN; Marion (Tony) Massmann of Eagle Bend, MN; David Nieland of Carlton, MN; Dennis (JoAnn) Nieland of Melrose, MN; Gordon Nieland of St. Cloud, MN; Harvey Nieland of Seattle, WA; Harold Nieland of St. Cloud, MN; Pam (Dennis) Loch of Watkins, MN; mother-in-law, Phyllis Hartwig of St. Cloud, MN; brothers-in-law, Allyn (Betsy) Hartwig of Yelm, WA; Ross Hartwig of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Patti (Tony) Fisher of Watkins, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Rita; brother, Roger; and father-in-law, Ralph Hartwig.
     Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
