Mae Holycross passed away quietly on Thursday, March 4th at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud.
Mae (Mabel) was born October 31st, 1917 to Hans and Nellie Sather in Fortuna, ND. She married Donald (Don) Holycross September 4th, 1940.
Mae (Mazzie) was known for her wonderful outgoing personality and infectious smile. She welcomed everyone. Her sparkling personality carried her through various venues in her life, including Bemidji, Marshall, Hibbing, and St. Cloud, MN. She excelled at her various positions in retail sales and retired from JC Penneys in 1978.
Mazzie always had a very special bond toward her children, Cheryl and Bob, and her friends and extended families, including 4 grandchildren, Kimberly, Dustin, Erik and Brett. She will be missed by all, but all feel blessed to having her as part of their lives.
Survivors include children Cheryl (Tom) Neutzling of Cameron Park, CA and Robert (Patricia) Holycross of Cohasset, MN, brother Irvin (Dora) Sather of Auburn, CA, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Adolph, Norman, and Harold, and 2 sisters, Alice Jensen and Doris Eggebraaten.
Funeral services will be at the Benson Funeral Home chapel, St. Cloud, MN on Friday, March 12th at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, remembrances be sent to Heartland Hospice, 605 Franklin Avenue NE, St. Cloud, MN 56304.
