Kathryn “Vonnie” (Ditter) Ibes, age 74, St. Cloud, MN, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, MN. Fr. Aaron Kuhn will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery, Collegeville, MN.
Vonnie was born August 17, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to Frank and Freda (Reinboldt) Ditter. On December 26, 1959 Vonnie married Wim T. Ibes at St. John’s Abbey Church, Collegeville, MN. She was employed as a nurse by Waite Park Nursing Home. Vonnie delighted in her children and grandchildren and loved being with them. Vonnie’s Catholic faith was a very important part of her life. She felt privileged to travel with her family, and also enjoyed music, cards (especially Bridge) and chocolate.
Survivors include Wim T. Ibes of St. Cloud, MN; sons, Wim (Jennifer) Ibes of New Richmond, WI; John (Sabine) Ibes of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Fruth of Lockhart, TX; Mia (Vincent) Boom of Kenosha, WI; Katie (Tim Schnabel) Ibes of Minneapolis, MN; Dorothy Ibes of Tempe, AZ; brother, Frank (Vida) Ditter of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Betty “Sis” (Gerry) Brown of Long Island, NY; sister-in-law, Peggy Ditter of Brooklyn Park, MN; brother-in-law, Jay Severson of Minneapolis, MN;16 grandchildren; and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don and sister, Pat.
