Anthony “Tony” John Michalski, age 92, St. Cloud, MN, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Bill Meier will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Tony was born June 5, 1917 in St. Paul, MN to Anthony and Frances (Toner) Michalski. On August 2, 1941 he married Fern H. Frame in St. Paul, MN. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Tony served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Tony was employed by St. Cloud School District 742 as an art teacher from 1946 until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Minnesota Education Association, and a life member of Sauk Rapids VFW Post #6992.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Michalski of St. Cloud, MN; sons and daughters, Peter (JoAnn) Michalski of Anchorage, AK; Michael (June) Michalski of St. Cloud, MN; John (Peggy) Michalski of Spokane, WA; Jeffrey (Virginia) Michalski of Sartell, MN; Sandra (John) Reishus of Dilworth, MN; Susan (Barry) Coyne Michalski of Roseville, MN; sister, Marjorie Phipps of Richfield, MN;17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, George and Bob Michalski.
