Beatrice Benjamin Huser, a longtime resident of St. Cloud, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. She was 83.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Beatrice was born Nov. 19, 1925 to Homer and Helen Ruth Benjamin in Hutchinson. She graduated from Hutchinson High School. She became a registered nurse at Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis. She married Norman L. Huser on June 25, 1949 at Vineyard Methodist Church in Hutchinson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Cloud since 1965 and was active in United Methodist Women.
She worked in surgery at St. Cloud Hospital, from 1965 to 1990. Prior to coming to St. Cloud, she worked in a similar capacity at Mayo Clinic-Rochester and hospitals in Cedar Rapids and Spencer, Iowa. She was an intelligent and compassionate woman, who inspired her family, and her diligence and encouragement was appreciated by friends and acquaintances who she cared for at the hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; daughter, Mary Ann Greenberg, her husband, Terry and granddaughters, Lucy and Annika of Lubbock, Texas and Rebecca of San Francisco; son, Bob of Maple Grove, and his companion, Joyce Wallace of Monticello; son, Ron, his wife, Allison Ilstrup, and grandchildren, Adam, Abigail, Anders and Anika of Maple Grove. She is also survived by her brother, Wesley Benjamin of Hutchinson. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Hugh.
Her family requests that any memorial donations be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or to Country Manor Foundation, which provided wonderful care for her during her long illness.
