     Winifred “Winnie” B. Frank, aged 86, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell, MN.
     Funeral services will be Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Country Manor Health Care Center Chapel, Sartell, MN. Rev. Gary Skramstad will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the nursing home chapel on Saturday. Burial will be in the spring in Benton County Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Winifred was born November 29, 1922 in St. Cloud, MN to Elmer D. and Ina B. (Potter) Johnson. She married Harold F. Frank on January 1, 1944 in Haven Township, Sherburne County, MN. Throughout her work career, Winifred worked as a waitress in Minnesota and Iowa, as a seamstress for Metzroth’s Clothing and Stearns Manufacturing, and from 1960 to 1963, she owned and operated Dick’s Lunch in Clearwater, MN. Winifred loved history, reading, visiting and socializing. Her passion was sewing and crafts. She was one of the founders of Clearwater Remembers, the village historical group. She was an active member of Clearwater United Methodist Church, Clearwater Legion Auxiliary, Clearwater Cub Scouts, Clearwater Recreation Group, and the Wright County Historical Society. She became a docent at the Stork House in Rockford, MN. She was an active volunteer for Hospice, as a cook for the Salvation Army, as a driver for RSVP, and as one of the Fun Singers, a choir that sang at St. Cloud events, including many nursing homes.
     Survivors include son and daughters, Donald (Kathy) Frank of Elizabethtown, KY; Cynthia (Frank) Stupnik of Watertown, SD; Rebecca Frank of St. Joseph, MN; brother and sister, Richard Johnson of St. Paul, MN; Arleen Mohring of Anamosa, IA; and two grandsons, Todd (Joyce) Stupnik of Plymouth, MN; and Matthew (Tori) Stupnik of Minneapolis, MN.
     Winifred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold, on November 8, 1994, three brothers, David, Edwin and Robert Johnson, and one sister, Roberta Mrozek.
