     Josephine Louise Sevada, age 85, St. Cloud, MN died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at St. Benedict's Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
     Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Josephine was born on August 16, 1923 in St. Cloud, MN to John J. & Mary (Rudolph) Sevada. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1941 and St. Cloud State University in 1945. Her majors were in English, Speech and Art. Josephine’s entire teaching career was in Minnesota Secondary Schools in Windom, Madison, St. James, East Grand Forks and Fergus Falls. Her last teaching position was 19 years at Fergus Falls High School, during those years she coached many debate teams, judged speech contests and directed many class plays. Josephine's hobbies included gardening and painting on wooden ware. She volunteered with the friends of the Library and Stearns History Museum. Josephine was a member of the St. Cloud Garden Club, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN, and life member of St. Cloud VFW Post #428 Auxiliary.
     Survivors include her niece, Judy Sevada of St. Paul, MN; dear friends, Barbro Andersson of Sweden; and Gail Enkers of Moorhead, MN, and many cousins. Josephine would like to thank her care giver, Becki Opatz of Holdingford, MN.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Sylvester Sevada and Jerome Sevada, and one sister, Genevieve Hornibrook.
     Memorials are preferred to: St. Cloud Public Library, St. Cloud Garden Club, Stearns History Museum, or Holy Spirit Church.
