    St. Cloud, Minnesota
    March 24, 1941 ~ August 29. 2008
    
     Jean MacDonald (Stocking) Kershner, age 67, of St. Cloud and Detroit Lakes, MN, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at her home in St. Cloud, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy fight with cancer.
     Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Michael Wyatt will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, September 1, 2008 from 4:30 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the columbarium at St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Cloud, MN.
     Jean was born March 24, 1941 in St. Paul, MN to Charles Harvey and Ruth Watson Stocking. They later moved to Detroit Lakes, MN where she graduated from high school in 1959. After graduation Jean attended St. Cloud State College. Jean worked outside of the home her entire life. She was employed for a number of years by Norby’s of Detroit Lakes, MN and also managed Norby’s at Crossroads Shopping Center in St. Cloud. Jean then excelled at outside sales, she sold printing supplies, newspaper ads, cell phones and yellow page ads. At the time of her death, Jean was a Territory Manager for Heartland Payment Systems, where she was highly respected within the organization and won numerous national awards.
     Jean has been very active in the Episcopal Church at local and state levels since her high school years. She was among the first women lay readers in the church.
     Jean took great pleasure in the years that she and Ron worked for Heartland Payment Systems especially during the winter months in Palm Desert, CA and more recently weekends at the their lake home on Cormorant Lake near Detroit Lakes.
     She enjoyed the time she could spend with her seven grandchildren and spoke often of their accomplishments. Jean delighted in feeding her birds and tending her flower gardens. She also doted on their two labs, Boots and Mac.
     Jean was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Cloud Country Club and Ducks Unlimited.
     Survivors include her husband, Ron of St. Cloud, MN; daughters, Mary (Bill) Molitor of Cold Spring, MN; Anne (Elliott) Korsen of Plainsboro, NJ; and Kristina (Josh) Isenberg of Naples, FL; sister, Elizabeth (Todd) O’Malley of Scranton, PA; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Katie, David, Sam, Benjamin, Gabriel and Samuel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her two labs, Boots and Mac.
     She was preceded in death by her parents
     Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
