     Dr. Robert G. Wehrle, age 91, Sauk Rapids, MN, formerly of St. Cloud, MN, died Monday, August 18, 2008 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be 1/2 hour prior to service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Robert was born March 23, 1917 in St. Paul, MN to Nicholas and Frances (Becker) Wehrle. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Dental School in 1939. In July 1940, Robert married Trolla Polfuss of St. Paul. They had two children, David and Karen.
     Robert went into private dental practice in St. Paul until September 1942 when he was inducted into the Army and sent to the Army Hospital at Randolph Field, Texas. Robert served as a dentist for the United States Army until May 27, 1946. In September 1946 he joined the Veterans Administration and served as a dentist at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration Hospital until January 2, 1977 when he retired as Chief of the Dental Service. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Trolla Wehrle of Sauk Rapids, MN; daughter, Karen (Roger) Sadlowsky of Blaine, MN; sister, Joan Fischer of St. Paul, MN; three granddaughters, Marnie (Mark) Lingle, Lori (Adam) Veazie, and Marda (John) Chahbazi; two great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
     He was preceded in death by his son, David, his parents, two brothers, William and Donald; and two sisters, Mildred Crandall and Helen Jansen.
