     E. Ellen (nee Hildenstein) Schultz, age 84, Clear Lake, MN died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital
     Funeral services will be Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Paul Dare and Rev. Jon Riggert will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2008 from 4:00 TO 7:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN.
     Ellen was born August 21, 1923 in Edwardsville, IL to Edwin George and Ethel (Day) Hildenstein. She was baptized in the name of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Ellen was instructed in the Lutheran doctrine and confirmed. After graduating from Edwardsville High School she spent three years as a secretary at the Illinois Selective Service Headquarters in Springfield, IL. Ellen enlisted in the Navy WAVES, during World War II, where she worked as a Control Tower Operator. She was stationed in the Main Station of the Corpus Christi Navel Air Base, Corpus Christi, TX. On June 8, 1947 Ellen was united in Holy Matrimony with William Meyer Schultz at Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield, IL. Five children were born to this union.
     Ellen worked as a Sixth Grade teacher at the school on the Federal Ammunition Depot in Igloo, SD. Through the years she was able to earn enough credits and graduated from St. Cloud State College, St. Cloud, MN, with a Bachelor of Science degree in teaching and three Masters Degrees in counseling. Ellen worked as a high school counselor at the Little Falls High School from 1972 to 1980. She shared in her husband’s, Bill, ministry for the Lord from Igloo, SD to Oberlein, KS, to Monte Vista, CO, onto Pittsburgh, PA, St. Cloud, MN, and Albany, MN.
     Ellen, a loving wife and mother, is survived by her husband, William of Clear Lake, MN; five children and their spouses, William E and Judy Schultz of Clear Lake, MN; David and Kathy Schultz of St. Cloud, MN; Jonathan and Maureen Schultz of Littleton, CO; Ellen and Daniel Wagner of Paullina, IA; and Martin “Tim” and Maggie Schultz of Henning, MN; sister, Edwina Lynn of Dallas, TX; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
     Her parents preceded her in death.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Lutheran Island Camp, Henning, MN.
