I was born May 12, 1945 to Ira and Emma (Trasowich) Smith in Sioux City, Iowa where I was raised and educated. I taught first grade and art before starting my beloved family: Andrew, Fr. Peter Anderl and Sarah Anderl Grant.
God brought us to Minnesota where Fr. Anderl’s call to the priesthood began and where Sarah married Curt Grant, giving me four grandchildren: Luke, Noelle, Gabriel, and Eva Gianna, whom I have loved dearly.
The treasure chest of the beautiful Catholic faith was opened to me by Fr. Luke Zimmer, Fr. Robert Laliberte, Fr. Robert Altier, EWTN’s Mother Angelica, by the faithful priesthood of Fr. Laurn Virnig, and by the example of Carmelite Sr. Immaculata.
I have been blessed to have had the friendship of many faithful and faith-filled friends and relatives.
Survivors include my son and daughter, Fr. Peter Anderl of Mooreton, ND; Sarah (Curt) Grant and their children Luke, Noelle, and Eva Gianna of Fargo, ND; mother, Emma Mulkey of Sioux City, IA; brother, Scott (Mary Jo) Smith and their children, Keley, Scott, Brian, Pat, and Molly of Jefferson, SD.
I was preceded in death by my father, Ira Smith, son, Andrew on September 11, 1971 and grandson, Gabriel on April 16, 2003.
In lieu of flowers masses are preferred.

This life lasts but a second compared to Eternity which is forever.
Please pray for my soul as I will pray for yours. Learn, live, and love the Faith!
I love you all and hope we will meet again in the Kingdom!
