Donald C. Burke, age 78, St. Cloud, MN died Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Regency Hospital of Minneapolis, Golden Valley, MN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato, MN.
Donald Burke was born December 25, 1929 in Mankato, MN to Charles and Doris (Roos) Burke. He served in the US Army from July 8, 1948 to May 16, 1952. Don married Marlys Ann Myrtle Amelia Radtke on July 18, 1959 at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Albany, MN. He was employed by Flour City Ornamental Iron Co., Minneapolis; Fabri-Tek, St. Cloud, MN, Franklin Manufacturing, St. Cloud, MN; Dairy Craft, St. Cloud, MN; Best-in-Webb Offset Printing, Monticello, MN; and Pilgrim Cleaners, St. Cloud, MN retiring on January 1, 1992. Don was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud, MN.
Don loved to listen and dance to big band, Old Tyme, and Old Country Music. Collect and play old Phonograph records, old audio tapes and old video tapes. Don and Marlys loved to travel and took many bus tours.
Don is survived by his wife, Marlys A. Burke of St. Cloud, MN; brother, Charles G. (Iva Lou) Burke of Brownsdale, MN; nieces and nephews, Sharon (Brian) Wilson of Litchfield, MN; Steve (Ming-Hui) Burke of Tempe, AZ; Ron (Wendi) Burke of Gardiner, MT; Rick (Maria) Burke of Honolulu, HA; Lori (Jason) Shaw of Dexter, MN; Lisa (Corey) Heimer of Byron, MN; great nieces and nephews, Paul, Angela and Bethany Wilson; Joy and Timothy Burke; Emma, Libby and Justin Burke; Massimiliano Burke; Shannon Tyler Ruechel, Jayden, Nevaeh Shaw; Zachary, Dylan and Carson Heimer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
