    LOUISE C. JACKSON, 88
    Sauk Rapids
    January 2,1919 ~ November 19, 2007

Louise Charlotte Jackson, age 88, Sauk Rapids, MN died Monday, November 19, 2007 at G ood Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids, MN.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel, Sauk Rapids, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel in Sauk Rapids. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Louise was born on January 2, 1919 on a farm in Chase County, Kansas to William R. and Valerie (Lespagnard) Craig. In 1931 she moved to Minnesota with her parents and her brother Melvin. The family lived in Crow Wing Township southwest of Brainerd, and Louise attended Washington High School in Brainerd. In 1936 she married Albert R. Jackson, also of Crow Wing Township. From 1940 on the family farmed, essentially carving a farm out of the woods.
In 1965, Louise moved to Saint Cloud, where she was employed by Stearns County Welfare Dept.until her retirement. In 1990, finally finding the time to study, she received an A.A. degree from Saint Cloud State University. At the age of 75 she built a new house in Little Falls and lived there until 2005. Louise Jackson was intelligent, religious, hard working, and she had an inquiring mind.
Her last years were marred by kidney failure (she was on dialysis for over three years), diabetes, congestive heart failure, loss of vision and of hearing, and several broken bones. Yet Louise remained a life-long learner, naturalist, and reader to her final day.
Survivors include her five children; Richard A. (Virginia) Jackson of Calvert, TX; Donald E. (Rennie) Jackson of rural Pequot Lakes, MN; Ralph E. Jackson of Saint Regis, MT, Alberta L. (James) Adams of Roseville, MN; Becky Jakobsen of Denver, CO; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Melvin.
     May she rest in peace.
