Ellen Lillian Wall, age 91, St. Cloud, MN passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Care Center, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 27, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Salem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Ellen was born January 16, 1916 in Erhard, MN to Edwin and Marie (Christiansen) Bakken. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. On July 22, 1939, Ellen married Jack E. Wall in Fergus Falls, MN. After World War II they moved to St. Cloud where she was employed by the St. Cloud Beauty School until 1956 when her daughter was born. Ellen was a long time resident of South St. Cloud. Following her husband’s death in 1971 Ellen kept busy caring for family members and friends, and baking cookies. Ellen delighted in her grandchildren and was especially close to her sister, Myrtle. Her health began to decline in 2001 and she has been a resident of St. Benedict’s Senior Community for the past three years. Ellen was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and a former member of Order of Eastern Star Granite Chapter #5, and Palestine White Shrine.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie (Daniel) Lutterman of St. Cloud, MN; and two grandchildren, Robert and Carrie Lutterman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, on September 16, 1971, two brothers, Clarence and Clifford, and two sisters, Nora and Myrtle.
