John M. Weymouth, age 63, Sauk Rapids, MN died Friday, April 13, 2007 of a heart attack in Williams County, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. John Praetorius will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Order of Eastern Star prayer service will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home, followed immediately by a Masonic prayer service. Burial will be in Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop, MN.
John Weymouth was born on August 8, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to Richard and Thelma (Ruud) Weymouth. He served in the United States Air Force. John married Cynthia (Brethorst) Neubarth on September 4, 1982 in St. Cloud, MN. He worked for Fingerhut for 23 years. In 2002 John cofounded Empire Transport with Jim Youngren. John was a member of North Star Masonic Lodge No. 23 AF & AM and Past Master, St. Cloud; Royal Arch Chapter #10 and Past High Priest, St. Cloud; Zabud Council #10, Brainerd; Nazerene Commandery #24, St. Cloud; Minneapolis Scottish Rite; St. Paul Osman Shrine; St. Cloud Shrine Club, St. Cloud Zagalas, St. Cloud Go-Karts and Past Captain, Order of Eastern Star Granite Chapter #5 and Past Patron, St. Cloud and Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of Minnesota in 1991-1992, and Grace United Methodist Church, St. Cloud.
John loved to hunt pheasants, fish, travel and was a certified PADI scuba diver.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Weymouth of Sauk Rapids, MN; son, Lance Weymouth of Dripping Springs, Texas; stepson, Corey Neubarth of Sauk Rapids, MN; sisters and brother, Ardith (Mel) Christenson of Bloomington, MN; Richard (Ann) Weymouth of Owensville, Indiana; Sharlene (Jack) Hauer of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Danielle Steffl and Dalton Neubarth; mother-in-law, Carolyn Brethorst of Lafayette, MN; sisters-in-law, Pamela Brethorst of St. Paul, MN; Cheryl (Leon) Portner of Lafayette, MN; brother-in-law, Thomas (Lori) Brethorst of Lafayette, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Daryck J. Neubarth on Feb. 27, 1995; one sister, Geraldine Weymouth, and father-in-law, Lomaine Brethorst.
Memorials are preferred to Masonic Cancer Center Fund or Partners for Life Cancer Pavilion at U of M Hospital.
Pallbearers will be the past and current members of the St. Cloud Shrine Go-Karts.
