Eleanor Christine Ellison, age 84, St. Cloud, MN, died Palm Sunday, April 1, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Calvary Community Church, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Earl Lassen and Rev. John Olson will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. Burial will be Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal, MN.
Eleanor Ellison was born on September 12, 1922 in Duluth, MN to David and Christine (Nelson) Olson. She married Howard R. Ellison on March 23, 1943 in Duluth, MN. Eleanor was a member of Calvary Community Church where she was active in a variety of functions. She was a volunteer in support of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, bird watching, skating and walking. She was a dedicated wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Ellison of St. Cloud, MN; son, Thomas H. (Mary Lou) Ellison of Tokyo, Japan; daughter, Janice (Richard) Hale of Brunswick, Maine; brothers, Rev John (Dorthea) Olson of Deer River, MN; Paul (Carolyn) Olson of Stillwater, MN; brother-in-law, Victor Redding of Wainanalo, HI; eight grandchildren, Kristin Foye, Birgitta Cashman, Luke Ellison, Ellen Ellison, Peter Ellison, Philip Ellison, Erick Ellison, and Grace Ellison; and two great grandchildren, Gordon Foye and Sam Cashman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Walter and Floyd Olson, and sister, Helen Redding.
