     Donald William Vinton, age 86, Winona, MN, formerly of St. Cloud, MN died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at St. Anne’s Extended Healthcare in Winona, MN.
     Funeral services will be Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 11:00 Am at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. Dan Schneider-Bryan will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. St. Cloud VFW Post #4847 prayers will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
     Donald Vinton was born July 21, 1920 in Union, IA to Glen W. and Florence (Saint) Vinton. He married Viola M. Landowski on October 9, 1949 in St. Cloud, MN. Donald was employed in road construction in the St. Cloud area. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Local Operating Engineers Local #49, and St. Cloud Eastside VFW Post #4847, Survivors include son, Glen (Renae) Vinton of Winona, MN; daughter, Donna (Craig) Klimek of Pillager, MN; brother, Robert (Karen) Vinton of Whitten, IA; sister, Gladys Decker of Grundy Center, IA; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Viola, on August 19, 2000, brothers, Dale, Merle, Dick and Clifford, sister, Marilyn and two infant sisters.
     Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
