     Gladys M. Cole, age 101, St. Cloud, MN, went home to be with her dear Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 28, 2007.
     Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the spring at Wood Lawn Cemetery, Annandale, MN. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
     Gladys Cole was born May 15, 1905 in Maple Lake, MN to Carl and Emma (Kloss) Mathan. She married Mark Clarence Cole of Watkins, MN on May 5, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN. Gladys was employed by Maple Lake Messenger as a linotype operator. She was the last living charter member of First Assembly of God Church, St. Cloud, and served as Women’s Missionary Council president, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and committed member of the Prayer Chain.
     Survivors include a son, Kenneth M. (Martha) Cole of Sauk Rapids, MN; a daughter, Sharon M. Cole of St. Cloud, MN; brother and sisters, Rev. Vernon Mathan of Costa Mesa, CA; Arietta “Peggy” Thurik of Minneapolis, MN; Rev. Marguerite Bayes of Costa Mesa, CA; two grandsons and three great grandsons.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mark, on April 23, 1984; one brother, Herbert Mathan, and two sisters, Adeline Jaffa and Eleanor “Violet” Montana.
     Gladys lived a life of selfless devotion and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and prayer warrior. She will be greatly missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
     Memorials are preferred.
