Hazel M. Billing, age 96, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud, MN.
Memorial services will be Friday, January 5, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the St. Benedict’s Senior Community Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Fr. Meinrad Dinndorf will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 PM at the St. Benedict’s Senior Community Chapel. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery, Elk River, MN. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow the service. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.
Hazel Billing was born June 23, 1910 in Dayton, MN to Lewis and Mae (Stephens) Morgan. She moved to Elk River in 1920 and lived there for 25 year, where she was the organist at Union Church for 15 years. Hazel worked for the Elk River School District and Cretex Company. She married Osborne “Red” Billing on June 19, 1942. Hazel has been a resident of St. Cloud for the past 60 years. She worked for Jack Frost Company and was the bookkeeper at the Germain Hotel in St. Cloud for 12 years. Hazel was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Whittemore Chapter of Eastern Star and Shrine Club Auxiliary.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janie Billing of Hartland, Michigan; daughter and son-in-law, Helen Anne and Jerry Nyberg of Ramsey, Minnesota; four grandsons, John and David Billing, and David and Benjamin Nyberg; and one great grandson, Daniel Billing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Osborne Billing, on May 29, 1992 and one sister, Helen. |
