Florence M. “Rosie” Busse, age 94, Sartell, MN, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell, MN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St. Cloud, MN. Rev. John Praetorius will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in North Star Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Florence Busse was born April 3, 1912 in Kensington, MN to Emil and Amelia (Edmund) Rose. She married Ross F. Busse on January 22, 1932 in St. Cloud. They farmed in the St. Cloud area until 1957 when they moved to New Braunfels, TX. In 1963 they returned to St. Cloud and resumed farming. In 1988 Ross and Florence moved to Spearfish, SD. After Ross’s death in 1994, Florence returned to St. Cloud. She spent her remaining years in Clear Lake, Sauk Rapids and finally Sartell. Florence loved to travel. She and Ross took many trips with her sister and brother-in-law. Fishing was another favorite past time and Florence loved time spent at a lake cabin with family. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Florence loved to tend to her garden, cook, and to be surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Roy (Dee) Busse of Sauk Rapids, MN and Richard (Sherry) Busse of Foley, MN; daughter-in-law, Bette Busse of Phoenix, AZ; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert on March 29, 1985; husband, Ross, on April 11, 1994; foster son, Jim Richards; two sisters, Luella Silver and Evelyn Crutchfield.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
