     Dorothy L. (Dot) Theisen, age 71, Waite Park, MN, died November 19, 2006 at her home after a year-long battle with cancer.
     Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waite Park, MN. Rev. Tony Kroll will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Parish Prayers will at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Waite Park, MN.
     Dorothy L. (Dot) Theisen was born May 14, 1935 in Freeport, MN to Ben and Helen (Schwieters) Korte. Dot graduated from Cathedral High School. She then went on to attend St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing in Little Falls. Dot worked as a LPN for the St. Cloud Hospital. She was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” Theisen on January 2, 1956 at Holy Angels Church in St. Cloud, MN. Dot was a long-term employee with Dayton’s/Marshall Field’s and also worked at the REM Home in St. Cloud.
    Dot was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, reading, and golf, but her pride and joy was her family, and many wonderful friends.
     Survivors include her husband, Wally of Waite Park, MN; sons and daughters, Gregory (Akiko) of Fridley, Benno (Linda) of Sartell, Jonell (John) Cella of Plymouth, Terri (George) Bavolak of Minneapolis, Kevin of St. Cloud, Todd (Sarah) of St. Joseph; brother, Gerald (Jane) Korte of St. Cloud, sisters, Bernice (Paul) Noll of Redlands, CA and Marlyn (Ed) Clarke of Green Valley, AZ; 15 grandchildren: Neil and Melora Theisen; Kristi Freeman and Gina Benson; Krista and Erin Cella, Tyler, Kayla and Jayden Bavolak, Shelby and Jordan Theisen; Nicholas, Amanda, Andrew and Alexander Theisen; and one additional grandchild due in Feb. 07.
     She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Korte and mother, Helen Julig.
     In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
